The Nest – Childcare Policies
Effective Date: 10/5/25
At The Nest, our goal is to provide a nurturing, safe, and engaging environment for children while parents or caregivers enjoy salon, spa, café, or community services. These policies ensure consistency, safety, and peace of mind for every family we serve.
1. Eligibility & Hours
Childcare services are available for children ages 6 months to 10 years.
Each child may attend for a maximum of 3 hours per day.
Reservations are required to ensure appropriate staffing and capacity.
Walk-ins may be accommodated when space allows but are not guaranteed.
Childcare hours align with The Nest’s operating schedule, with last drop-off accepted no later
than 3 hours before closing.
2. Check-In & Check-Out Procedures
A parent or legal guardian must complete registration before the first visit, including emergency contacts, allergies, and medical information.
Photo ID is required at drop-off and pick-up.
Only individuals listed on the authorized pick-up list may retrieve a child.
Late pick-up fees apply at $2 per minute per child after the reserved end time.
3. Health & Wellness Policy
To protect all children and staff, we strictly enforce the following health guidelines:
Children must be free of fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or contagious illness for at least 24 hours
before attending.
The Nest reserves the right to refuse care to any child showing symptoms of illness.
In case of emergency or illness during care, parents will be contacted immediately.
Parents must remain on-site or reachable by phone at all times during their child’s stay.
4. What to Bring
Please provide:
Diapers, wipes, and any required creams (for children in diapers).
Labeled bottles, snacks, or drinks.
A labeled change of clothes.
Comfort items (blanket, pacifier, etc.) if desired.
Note: Please do not bring toys from home unless approved by staff.
5. Food & Allergy Policy
The Nest is a nut-aware facility; peanut and tree nut products are not permitted.
All food and drink items must be labeled with your child’s name.
Please disclose all allergies or dietary restrictions during registration.
Caregivers will not feed children meals but may assist with snacks provided by the parent.
6. Behavior & Guidance
We believe in gentle, respectful care. Our caregivers use positive redirection, encouragement, and age-appropriate communication.
Physical punishment or verbal discipline is strictly prohibited.
If behavioral challenges arise that compromise safety, parents may be asked to remove their child for the day.
Repeated incidents may result in temporary or permanent suspension of childcare privileges.
7. Safety & Security
All caregivers are CPR and First Aid certified and have completed background checks.
The Nest maintains a low staff-to-child ratio to ensure quality supervision.
Emergency evacuation and lockdown procedures are posted in the childcare area and reviewed
regularly.
Only authorized staff and parents/guardians are permitted in the childcare area.
8. Personal Belongings & Liability
The Nest is not responsible for lost or damaged items.
Please leave valuables and irreplaceable items at home.
Parents remain legally responsible for their children at all times while using The Nest childcare services.
9. Fees & Reservations
Rates vary by membership tier:
Basic Members: $16/hour (up to 2 children)
Standard Members: $14/hour (up to 2 children)
Family Members: $12/hour (unlimited children)

10. Parent Partnership & Communication
We view parents as partners. Open communication is essential to your child’s success and comfort.
Caregivers will share brief updates at pick-up regarding activities, mood, and any concerns.
Feedback is always welcome; we encourage ongoing dialogue to improve care.
